PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA

Reading this book Journey of Self-Realization by Paramahansa Yogananda. He was a famous guru in the 1920s-1950s. His teachings hold so much truth and are so inspiring!

These words touched me :-

"People should spiritualize their business ambitions by starting out with the idea of serving the proper needs of their fellow being. Not only should man make money by serving, and thereby get something for himself in return, but should also work for the sake of acquiring money to use in creating institutions that will serve public needs. When one has made a great deal of money, and simultaneously helped his workers and associates to become more prosperous, and then uses his wealth for helping others to help themselves, that is spiritualizing ambitions."

That's an amazing truth about making money! I would definitely want to achieve that and make money not only for myself but for serving others. Just the thought of it makes me feel empowering.

Egypt

EGYPT

A country of ancient beauty and mystical history. She has been a country that I have always dream of visiting. I finally made it this May for 16 days. Never before had I imagine that she would have such great impact on me. I had the most amazing experience that no words can describe. I could literally feel the earth moving underneath my feet when I was there! I believe my Taiji practise have helped increase my sensitivity to chi i.e. energy. (Check out the energy balls captured at the Temple of Luxor!)

Travelling with my teacher - Dehyana has made the trip extra special as she was able to explain the meaning of the stone carvings on the wall and how they relate to the meaning of life. She has brought me to another dimension of the power and magic of Egypt.


There is so much more for me to discover in Egypt and I am sure I will be back again one day.

Passive Income - Network Marketing

Over the last few years, I have came across the term "passive income". It seems to be a dream to be able to be rich and free to do whatever we want to do. It is a dream I want to work towards.

I have came across many MLMs company in the past, most put me off with their hard selling, monthly quota, Ra ra meetings to psycho you to hard sell etc etc. Unfortunately, as a result, it has created a bad name for network marketing. Meditation

I have started a routine of daily meditation in the morning. Interesting, I naturally end with 3 stance with hands in prayer position. 1st at my forehead, 2nd at my heart and 3rd at my abdomen. Today , some words came to me while ending in prayer position. They are,

1) I will see with my inner eye
2) I will feel with my heart
3) I will serve in the physical world

I do believe these are words of wisdom from my inner voice. It is amazing what we can hear when we still our mind.

Back to Nature

Being a dancer for the past 15 years has brought me many wonderful experiences performing in Singapore and overseas in China. I did not understand until lately that it was my way of connecting with the Universe. Have stopped dancing with my dance troupe for the past half a year. The desire to perform on stage seems to have diminished. But the desire to dance is still strong. Now, I just want to dance for joy.

Here is a dance item , Back to Nature, jointly choreographed by me and 3 dance friends in Dec 2006. I love the music and the choreography. It was my 1st experience in choreography. Performed in public at People's Association. There was a real sense of achievement then.

We begin this New Year with dampened enthusiasm and dented optimism. Our happiness is diluted and our peace is threatened by the financial illness that has infected our families, organizations and nations. * Accounting: It's no use carrying an umbrella, if your shoes are leaking.

* Auditing: Beware of little expenses; A small leak can sink a large ship.

* Risk-taking: Never test the depth of the river with both feet. [Have an alternate plan ready]

* Investment: Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I'm certain that those who have already been practicing these principles remain financially healthy. I'm equally confident that those who resolve to start practicing these principles will quickly regain their financial health.

Let us become wiser and lead a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful life.

Those are the 3 words I live by now. I never could really find a religion I could connect to. I used to question why am I here on earth and what is my purpose. Ever since meeting Dr Aaron and his wife Dehyana, I found my answers. Love is the only reason we are here. We are here to love and be loved. Love will create a positive energy and spread to those around us. We will only have praises to say. We will be grateful for everything. In my moments of down time, when I quiet myself and remember these 3 words, life seems so much simpler. It is my mission to continue to practise and serve where ever that is needed of me.
